ASD Athletics

The Silent Warriors!

Alabama School for the Deaf is known as "the home of the champions."  More than 60% of our students participate in some kind of organized sports.  We offer Class 1A champion football, basketball, volleyball, track and field, soccer and cheerleading.  Our students have competed in the international Deaf-Olympics and our teams have won state and national championships in every major sport. We compete against public schools around Alabama and schools for the deaf from across the nation.

ASD is a member of the Mason Dixon School for the Deaf Athletic Association.  Since 1992 the ASD Boys Basketball Team has won seven Mason Dixon Basketball Tournaments. In 2010 the Boys Track Team was the overall points leader for Mason Dixon.
