The NRSC is able to provide you with the opportunity to establish a Robotics team at your school for free!

VEX Robotics & the REC Foundation releases a new challenge yearly in late April. Students are to design a robot to tackle that challenge!  You can start immediately after to maximize the time or wait till the fall. No experience necessary! There are two competitive levels - IQ and VRC.  Read on for more information.

    - Grades 3-8 (NRSC sponsors travel for grades 7 & up for NRSC tournaments)

    - 2 players per team

    - No limit to how many teams per school

    - Select a robot from 9+ options

    - Building

    - Programming

    - Field (currently 4’ by 8’, will be 6’ by 8’ in Fall 2020)

Minimum 1 coach / chaperone / adult / supervisor   (NO experience necessary)   More is helpful!  Ask anyone - teacher aides, dorm staff, parents, etc.  Trainings will be provided on how to build and use the robots.  This can be done on site (preferable) or via livestreaming.

It is suggested the team meets at least 1 time a week for 1 hour.  More is better! Having a class is best! Participate in a local competition to get better experience.

The NRSC can provide materials for 2 IQ teams and a VIQC field at no cost to you. We ask in return that you participate in our NRSC yearly competition. We will cover travel costs.  The NRSC can also continue to provide materials based on a yearly re-evaluation of need and also direct you to grants for more materials if you can’t wait!
