National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) Regional STEM Center (NRSC)

NRSC Mission

 

The NRSC - AIDB mission is to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education initiatives and career awareness for students who are deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) in middle and high school. This includes students in both mainstream and residential programs. 

NRSC offers the following programs and services: 

  • English Language Arts Strategies
  • Mechatronic Engineering Leadership in Deafness
  • Robotics
  • STEM Academy
  • STEM and Literacy Workshops for Teachers

All the programs and services are provided at no cost.

NRSC’s five target audiences are:

  1. Deaf and Hard of Hearing middle and high school students and their families
  2. Teachers of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  3. Educational interpreters
  4. Vocational rehabilitation personnel
  5. STEM employers
