Patrick Smith Named Director of Information Technology at AIDB

Since joining AIDB in 2016 as a Computer Technology Technician, Smith has demonstrated exceptional technical expertise, leadership, and a deep commitment to advancing AIDB’s mission through innovative technology solutions.

“Patrick’s promotion to Director is a testament to his vision, work ethic, and the impact he has made on the organization,” said Kyle Gregg, Chief Information Officer. “His leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of technology at AIDB, ensuring our students, consumers, and staff have access to reliable, cutting-edge tools that support communication, accessibility, and innovation.”

Over the years, Smith has steadily progressed through the IT department, earning increasingly complex and strategic roles. He has led initiatives in information systems, system administration, and IT infrastructure - playing a critical role in modernizing AIDB’s technology environment. In 2023, he was promoted to Assistant Director of Information Technology, where he continued to drive efficiency, enhance cybersecurity, and lead cross-functional teams with excellence.

Before joining AIDB, Smith built a strong foundation in healthcare IT at Clay County Healthcare Authority, where he advanced from Information Technology Technician to Information Technology Coordinator and Privacy Officer. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Jacksonville State University.
