What Happens After You Report

After a report has been submitted:

  • It will be sent to the Title IX Coordinator (TIXC). 
  • The TIXC will reach out to the complainant several times to offer support, resources, and an invitation to meet.
  • We would like the opportunity to meet the complainant to discuss their rights and options. It is important to remember that any student or employee who alleges that they have experienced sexual misconduct or discrimination has the right to file a Formal Complaint and address the alleged misconduct through our Informal or Formal Complaint Resolution processes. 

Frequently used terms during the title IX process
person chosen by a party to accompany the party to meetings, interviews, or hearings related to the resolution process and to advise the party on that process.
refers to those who have appellate decision-making authority within AIDB’s Title IX Grievance process.
a individual who is alleged to be the victim of conduct that could constitute sexual harassment based on a protected class; or retaliation for engaging in a protected activity.
the person who reviews the evidence, determines relevance, and makes the Final Determination of whether this Policy has been violated and/or assigns sanctions.
locations, events, or circumstances where AIDB exercises substantial control over both the Respondent and the context in which the sexual harassment, discrimination, and/or retaliation occurs.
the method of formal resolution designated by AIDB to address conduct that falls within the policies included below, and which complies with the requirements of the Title IX regulations (34 CFR §106.45).
the person or persons assigned by AIDB to gather facts about an alleged violation of this Policy, assess relevance and credibility, synthesize the evidence, and compile this information into an investigation report of relevant evidence and file of Directly-related Evidence.
an employee of AIDB who is obligated by policy to share knowledge, notice, and/or reports of harassment and/or retaliation with the Title IX Coordinator and/or their supervisor. responsibility in this Policy.
any AIDB employee/contractor/volunteer.
a comprehensive education (including K-12 programs that receive federal funding), rehabilitation and service program serving individuals of all ages who are deaf, blind, deafblind and multi-disabled.
an individual who has been reported as having engaged in conduct that could constitute sexual harassment or retaliation under this Policy.
the result of an informal or Formal Grievance Process.
a consequence imposed by AIDB on a Respondent who is found to have violated this policy.
the umbrella category including the offenses of sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, and domestic violence.
the official(s) designated by AIDB to ensure compliance with Title IX and AIDB’s Title IX program. References to the Title IX Coordinator throughout this policy may also include a designee of the Title IX Coordinator for specific tasks.
the Title IX Coordinator, any deputy coordinators, and any member of the Grievance Process Pool.
