•   Admissions office working with family of potential student

The Admissions Office is the initial area of contact for parents interested in the possibility of enrollment at the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind. AIDB has three children programs; Alabama School for the Blind, Alabama School for the Deaf and the Helen Keller School. Each program has admissions criteria that all students must meet to qualify for a specific program.

In the interest of making the process a smooth transition for the parent, our staff will provide answers and insight to all aspects of the Admissions process at AIDB.

Not sure if you want to consider enrollment at an AIDB school yet? How about a tour of our campuses? Go ahead and contact the staff – they would love to speak with you, send you information, or even schedule a tour!  Contact Mrs. Mandy Griffin, Admissions Coordinator, 1-800-532-4622 or griffin.mandy@aidb.org

Spanish Interpreter services are available in order to break the communication barrier between school staff and families. These interpreting services include interpreting for meetings, phone conferences, referrals, and Early Intervention services. Translating services include translating documents for parents of students who attend AIDB. These documents consist of IEP documents, monthly bulletins, newsletters, weekly Friday letters and/or communication letters such as homework or upcoming events. Our handbooks are translated in order to better provide important information for our Spanish parents.

We provide our students with Spanish speaking families these services to better serve our students, families and staff. If Spanish Interpreter services are needed please contact Nancy Foshee, 256-761-3399 or foshee.nancy@aidb.org
