  • RISE Autism is a program uniquely designed for students and individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Sensory Loss. RISE, which stands for Reaching Independence through Supported Education, uses evidence-based strategies to foster skills that lead to independence. These skills include communication, social interaction, vocational and career training, and life skills.

RISE Autism uses comprehensive language and behavior assessments to address the immediate concerns of each student and individual. As a result of these assessments, we can work with the students, consumers, families, and other stakeholders to design and implement individualized plans to achieve long-term goals.

RISE Autism provides individualized, direct service to students enrolled in instructional programs at Helen Keller School of Alabama, Alabama School for the Blind, and Alabama School for the Deaf, as well as students enrolled at E.H. Gentry Facility.  RISE Autism also provides support through collaboration with the AIDB Outreach and Early Intervention teams as well as the 10 AIDB Regional Centers.
