Referrals and Admissions

Referrals to Alabama's Structured Discovery program are received through the student's respective state Department of Rehabilitation Services. Students seeking admission in the AFCB must be 18 or older and provide medical proof of vision loss. Students must be capable of managing their own medications including monitoring of blood pressure and blood sugar and measuring and administering insulin as appropriate. Students must be able independently to evacuate from the Center and Residential Facility in the case of an emergency.
