Navigating the Process
What Happens After You Report
-
After a report has been submitted:
- It will be sent to the Title IX Coordinator (TIXC).
- The TIXC will reach out to the complainant several times to offer support, resources, and an invitation to meet.
- We would like the opportunity to meet the complainant to discuss their rights and options. It is important to remember that any student or employee who alleges that they have experienced sexual misconduct or discrimination has the right to file a Formal Complaint and address the alleged misconduct through our Informal or Formal Complaint Resolution processes.

Support Measures
One of the primary purposes of the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind is to provide support and resources to students, staff, and faculty. Supportive measures are designed to restore and preserve access to your education and are available to complainants and respondents. Please see the list and resources below to learn more about the available supportive measures. Please contact the Title IX Coordinator to have these supportive measures implemented. There will be privacy of supportive measures to the extent possible and will promptly address any violation of a supportive measure. Additionally, supportive measures are not typically permanent; however, they may remain in place permanently or for extended periods of time if appropriate. Supportive measures are not designed to be punitive or overly burdensome to the parties.
