HKS Black History Program

HKS Black History Program

Helen Keller School’s Black History Program featured at Talladega's Historic Ritz Theatre on February 27, 2020. HKS rocked the house with their special showcase of the band, Top Secret. This live jazz band played some of the greatest old school hits. The band took the audience back in time with songs from The Jackson 5, The Temptations, Lalah Hathaway and more. The theatre was full of support from some of Talladega City Council members, AIDB staff and students. Top Band encouraged the audience to sing-along and participate, during the songs. The involvement from the crowd was phenomenal! Some people even hugged and joined hands, while singing memorable songs. Students absolutely enjoyed the band giving them an opportunity to play instruments and join in, during their performance. Students played hand drums and congas, which really impressed the band members. Top Band acknowledge that Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind had talented students. You can watch the live performance on AIDB’s page on Facebook.
