Jeanna Chandler Named Academic Director of Helen Keller School of Alabama
Jeanna Chandler, a former Title I facilitator and special education teacher, is named the Academic Director of Helen Keller School of Alabama (HKS).
"I could not be more excited to have Jeanna as part of the HKS Staff and Family,” said Amy Ward, Ed.S., NBCT, Principal, HKS. “We are very blessed to have her expertise and leadership."
Chandler began her new role on August 1, 2021. “I am so thankful for the opportunity to be part of AIDB at Helen Keller,” said Chandler. “The faculty and staff have been so welcoming and the students are a joy! I look forward to learning and growing together with this amazing group!”
Chandler began her career as a special education teacher at Oxford High School where she also served for a year as a member of the Alabama Occupational Diploma Task Force and as an adjunct teacher at Jacksonville State University. She then went on to become a Title I facilitator turned principal at Wellborn Elementary.
Chandler is a graduate of Jacksonville State University where she earned her bachelor’s in Political Science, her master’s in Collaborative Education, as well as her master’s in Education Administration. In 2017, Chandler graduated from the Alabama Superintendent Academy.
