Alabama School for the Deaf Celebrates Class of 2022

Commencement exercises at Alabama School for the Deaf (ASD) will be held on May 25, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. in McFarlane Auditorium. The speaker will be Raven Sutton, Survivor Resource Specialist for Deaf Dawn. Sutton also works as an advocate for the Deaf community as well as a content creator. 

As valedictorian of the ASD Class of 2013, Sutton went on to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from Gallaudet University. She has created compelling content that garnered the attention of companies such as Twitter and historic publications such as The New York Times. She continues to use her platform in hopes of inspiring change.

Candidates for graduation from ASD are Sasha Dailey of Montevallo, Bailey Durrett of Columbiana,  Camron Edmondson of Lanett, Logan Freeman of Madison, Autumn Harvey of Pelham, Tristen Jensen of Moody, Maurice Massey of Montgomery, Jessica Morris of Talladega, Mia Nelson of Florala, Alliyaah Sharpe of Montgomery, Addison Taylor of Guntersville, Chanelle Taylor of Tuscaloosa, Darin Thomas of Talladega, and Cayla Tucker of Eastaboga.
