Recreation

HKS employs a full-time Recreation Specialist to organize meaningful daily activities and therapeutic play during second shift and weekends. He/she utilizes our Student Center, Hackney Play Center, Fitness/Rec park, and gymnasium for activities like music, sports, sensory stimulation, games, exercise, crafts, and birthday parties. Residential students also participate in special events like a Valentine’s Day party, Christmas shopping trip and party, Talent show, Prom, and outings to restaurants, parks, and various cultural events.
