ASB’s youngest students explore, discover, and demonstrate their musical talents through age appropriate music classes. Preschool and Kindergarten students are actively engaged in strengthening essential developmental skills through activities such as singing, imaginative play, storytelling, and creative movement. These early music experiences improve motor skills, help students learn cooperation, and encourage the discovery of individual musical talents and interests. The younger choruses are exposed to an array of music from different genres, time periods, and styles. These young singers and musicians grow in self-confidence through singing solos, being part of an ensemble, and playing instruments all in the context of their daily music class. Students study beginning music theory and enjoy participating in musical games and activities. Special performances throughout the school year are vital extensions of the music classroom which further encourage students in their appreciation of music through practice and performance.
